NECC Academic Contest

NECC Academic Contest

    Last Monday, April 7, selected students from Clarkson attended the NECC Academic Contest in Norfolk. Students were nominated by teachers to compete in categories ranging from algebra to welding.

Students left Clarkson at 7 am to go to Norfolk. After arriving at NECC, students became familiar with the campus and went to the room they were testing in. Thirty-two class D schools were also at the competition. One person from Clarkson was in each test and had an hour to complete the test.

    At noon students went to the mall to eat lunch and later returned to NECC for an awards ceremony. Medalists were Thomas Bunner 1st in Accounting ll, Jesse Gall 1st in Basic Construction, Jonathan Langdon 2nd in Chemistry, Jadine Wiese 2nd in English Composition, Sydney Novak 3rd in Literature, and John Steffensmeier 3rd in Personal Finance. Clarkson won 8th place overall out of 32 Class D schools.
