Technological Advancements in Shop

Over the years, technology has been advancing at a extremely fast rate, but Clarkson Public Schools has been able to keep up with it and give their students the best resources available. From student loaned MacBook Airs to iPads in the classroom, Clarkson has been keeping up with the technological advances in the industry. Now, the shop class is being upgraded with advanced machinery, starting with two new 3D printers, a laser cutter/engraver, and 3D scanners.

“Technology will always be advancing, and we cannot fall behind. If we do, the students will lose that chance to learn new skills,” said IT instructor Mr. Bailey.

Recently the shop class has introduced 3D scanners to the classroom. Mr. Bailey said, “I believe that the 3D scanners will be a great addition to the classroom. This will allow students to explore all the potentials of 3D printing from printing sculptures, home models, to everyday objects.”
