Student Spotlight: Shyla Shaw

This week’s Student in the Spotlight is Shyla Shaw. She is a sophomore at Clarkson Public Schools. Shyla is a very funny and caring person, making sure you are having a good day by making you laugh, either with a joke or just by saying something funny.

Shyla said that this school has some really good food; her top three favorite lunches have to be sub sandwiches, fajitas, and tacos. Her “bottom 3” worst lunches have to be salisbury steak, meatloaf, and spaghetti.

Shyla’s favorite teacher is English teacher Mrs. Morfeld. She likes her a lot because she makes class fun by getting to know everyone and joking around with them. Her favorite class is American Government because she likes to learn about what happened in the past and what the future has to hold. She also thinks it’s cool because we will always keep adding to history.

Shyla is out for volleyball, and she has been playing since elementary. She chose to go out for volleyball because it was something new to try, and she thinks that it is a lot of fun.

When Shyla graduates in two years, the one thing that she will always remember is her class. There are only 13 people, so she knows all of them on a personal level and they know her. She said that they really impact her life because she wouldn’t be who she is today if she didn’t have them in her life.

If Shyla won a million dollars she would use some of it to help out her whole family with their finances. She would save some so she can pay off her college funds and for when she has a family herself. Then, she would use that last of it to donate to different kinds of charities.
