Student Spotlight: Joy Mapel
Launch the media gallery 1 playerJoy is a freshman at Clarkson Public Schools. Her parents’ names are Tanna and Maynard Mapel. She also has a sister (Jerzzi) who is in 4th grade and a brother (Dillan) who is in 7th grade.
Her favorite class this year is Art, and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Cerv, the art teacher. Joy is currently participating in band and FCCLA. Her favorite thing to do in her free time is to read, especially her favorite book series - Twilight. Joy’s role model is her mom because her mom has taught her and her siblings everything they know, and she still continues to do that everyday.
Joy says that she doesn’t like public speaking at all, and on a scale of 1-10, she’d be sitting at a 2 for being able to talk to someone. If she was stuck on a deserted island and could only bring one thing, she would bring a parrot so she would have someone to talk to. Joy’s future dream job is to be a nurse because she enjoys helping people in any way she can.
