Student Spotlight: Ashlynn Novotny

This week’s student in the spotlight is Ashlynn Novotny. Ashlynn is a freshman at Clarkson Public Schools. She is currently living with her parents, Ryan and Amanda Novotny.

Ashlynn is not quite sure what career field she wants to enter in the future, but she is thinking about something either animal-related or sports-related. She chose them because she loves them both and they would both be really fun. Ashlynn also hasn't thought a lot about where she should go to college, but she has heard about Morningside.  She thinks it would be really cool, but she is willing to look wherever the best scholarships and offers are.

Ashlynn is out for volleyball, basketball, and track this year. She chose these sports because she really enjoys them. She also said that doing more than one sport makes you a whole lot better at the one you enjoy the most.  Her favorite high school memory so far would have to be when they played Lutheran High Northeast in basketball, and they “nested the Eagles.”

Her favorite thing to do with her family is playing basketball.  It gets pretty intense because they are all competitive and it makes them all better.  Ashlynn’s inspirations are her coaches, parents, and friends. She chose them because they push her to be the best she can be.  In her free time, Ashlynn likes to either be with her friends or practice basketball. Both of them can make life a lot better for her.

Ashlynn’s favorite subject is science because it is really interesting to her. Her favorite teacher was Mr. Faltys because he always has some crazy story to tell and he is just fun to be around.  Ashlynn said that her favorite school lunch would have to be sub sandwiches and the worst lunch would have to be pulled pork sandwiches.
