Student Spotlight: Paige Moore
This week for Student Spotlight, Paige Moore was interviewed. Paige is a sophomore at Clarkson. Her parents are John Moore and Lorraine Moore. Her sister Kelsey is in eighth grade.
This year Paige is participating in band, FCCLA, volleyball, basketball, speech, and later in the spring, track. Paige plays the clarinet in band, she’s the Historian and Public Relations officer in her FCCLA chapter, and she does a duet speech and a persuasive speech at speech meets. Her favorite sport is basketball. She’s been playing the sport since 3rd grade, and she’s been in love with it ever since. She loves the aggression involved in the sport and being on the court with all of the fans cheering her on! Of course her favorite sports team is the Nebraska Huskers!
When Paige grows up, she wants to do something along the lines of special education, because she loves everything about it. She is inspired by her sister, who has grow up with special needs. Paige isn’t 100% sure where she wants to go to college yet; it just depends on which scholarships she receives and what educational programs she gets offered.
Paige is one of the most outgoing (and sometimes the loudest) in her class. She always comes into class with a smile on her face, and she knows how to crack a bad joke, that everyone still laughs at. Paige has many friends that she cares about. In her free time, Paige likes to spend time with her family and friends, watch movies, and relax as much as possible.
Her favorite subject in school is math because she loves figuring out equations, and she’s the type of person who won’t give up until she figures it out. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Morfeld because she always helps her out. Mrs. Morfeld’s class is tough, but she’s always willing to help and always cracking jokes.
Paige’s inspiration is her mom, Lorraine. She says that her mom is always there for her, and she makes her want to be like her someday. Whenever she has a game or other activity, her mom is there to cheer her on. Her mom also spends a lot of time with Kelsey, so she barely has time for herself. Paige goes to her when she needs good advice.
Paige’s favorite memories of high school so far would be spending time with all of her friends and realizing how many friends she’s made so far. Whether it’s a two-hour bus ride or a speech meet, she gets to see so many different people from different schools. Paige is a very big “people person”, so meeting new friends is awesome for her!
If Paige had to live without one of her senses, it would be her sense of smell, because she feels it’s the least important.
