Student Spotlight: Sawyer Kappel

This weeks student in the spotlight is Sawyer Kappel. Sawyer is a freshman this year at Clarkson High School. He is living with his parents Brian and Jennifer Kappel; Jennifer is the guidance counselor at the Clarkson. Sawyer has a younger sister, Ella, in the sixth grade.

When Sawyer gets older he is thinking about becoming a veterinarian because he really likes animals, and he thinks they would be really fun to work with. He wants to go to school at UNL because that’s where his parents went, and he thinks it would be a good school to attend.

Sawyer is currently out for for basketball and would like to join track in the spring. He is thinking about doing track because most of his friends are doing it, and he thinks it would be a cool idea to join. Basketball is his favorite because it is really fun to shoot baskets.

Sawyer’s favorite subject is science. He chose science because it is really interesting and it is taught by his favorite teacher, Mrs. Beeson.

Sawyer’s inspirations are his parents. They are always pushing him to be or do better. They are always there to support him no matter what. He hopes he is a parent like them when he grows up.
