Humphrey Track Meet

GREAT DAY TO BE A PATRIOT!

On Wednesday, May 3, the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots track team traveled to Humphrey for their second annual track meet. Halee Steffensmeier, a sophomore from Clarkson, broke her own 200-meter record. Dillan Knapp, a freshman from Clarkson, beat the 800-record by 2 seconds. Overall, the Lady Patriots finished runner-up.

One thing that most track meets don’t do is a throwers relay. But when the Patriot throwers heard there was going to be one, they laced up their shoes extra tight. The Lady Patriot throwers who participated in the throwers relay were senior Shelby Paprocki, sophomores Beth Wiese and Sara McEvoy, and freshman Brittany Urbanek. The ladies ended up finishing first and receiving Snickers candy bars for getting the win. The boys’ Patriot throwers consisted of sophomore Cort Porkorny, freshmen Sawyer Kappel and Kobe Indra, and junior Alex Machmuller. They finished just short of last place.

You can catch the Patriot team in action in Oceola on May 10th, competing at districts.
