Softball Triangular in Dodge

Tuesday, August 19, was a varsity softball triangular at Dodge. The first game was Highway 91 vs. Wayne.  It went for 2 innings. The ending score was Hwy 91 (0) to Wayne (15). In one inning Breanna Ashton, senior at CHS, was playing center field and got all 3 outs.

In the second game of Wayne vs. Bishop Neumann, the game went into overtime because the score was tied but then Wayne ended winning.  It was a very good game, and both teams played very well. The ending score was Wayne (6) to Bishop Neumann (2).

The third and final game was Hwy 91 vs. Bishop Neumann, and it was very interesting because Catherine Kempf, from Dodge, tried to steal second base but the other team bobbled the ball, so Cat ended up having to run back to first in order to be safe.  In the process of sliding into first, she hit her head on the base.

“We tried our best but they just had a better game today,” one of the girls from Hwy 91 said after the game.
