In the Patriot Spotlight: Alicia Vodehnal

Each week a Clarkson High School student or Clarkson Public Schools staff member will be randomly selected to be "In the Patriot Spotlight."  This week's Patriot is Alicia Vodehnal. Her parents are Nicholas Vodehnal and Isela Vodehnal.

Alicia’s favorite class is Spanish because it is easy for her, and she wants to learn more so she can talk to her mom’s side of the family with confidence.  As for her favorite teacher, Alicia said, “I prefer not to pick favorites. Every teacher is different, and I can’t find much reason to put one above the rest.”

Alicia’s favorite part of high school is that she can now drive to and from school. She tends to stay late, so it’s nice to know someone isn’t waiting for her in the parking lot. In the past, there were times when she took awhile getting out of school, and she is pretty sure the people waiting for her took a few catnaps. Her least favorite part of high school is the change in habit, and she sometimes misses the recess that she use to have.

Alicia hasn’t yet decided where to attend college. She hasn’t thought about it much, but she thinks she will go to college in a branch of science. She is leaning towards anatomy and physiology, but she isn’t set with that yet. It could change.

Alicia likes to read and watch movies. She reads fantasy and mystery books with a little bit of horror. She loves to watch action movies with her dad.

While her family doesn’t really have a tradition, she always spends the holidays with her Grandma Linda, Great Aunt Sandy, her Great Grandma Lopour. They usually take turns hosting the holiday.
