Patriot Wrestling Sending Two To State
Launch the media gallery 1 playerCongratulations to Derek Gurnsey and Tim Zimmerman who qualified for the State Wrestling tournament in Omaha. Both placed 3rd in districts last Saturday. The team as a whole finished 12th out of 20. The Class D 1st round of wrestling takes place on Thursday, February 15th beginning at 4:00.
Coach Tyler Reeves commented: "very proud of both these seniors, qualifying for state. Tim has wins over 2 wrestlers in his state bracket and 1 wrestler who qualified in class B. Derek has 3 wins over class D qualifiers and 6 wins over class C qualifiers and finished the season rated #6 in class D. Both wrestlers have competed with the best in the state and excited so see what happens at state."
