In the Patriot Spotlight: Abby Gall

Each week a Clarkson High School student or Clarkson Public Schools staff member will be randomly selected to be "In the Patriot Spotlight."  This week's Patriot is Abby Gall. Her parents are Mike and Linda Mathis. She is married to Jordan Gall. They have been together for five years, but they have been married for almost a year now. Abby and Jordan plan on having three to four kids. They currently have one on the way!

Abby grew up in a small town called St.Libory. In 2010 St.Libory had a population of 264. Abby went to college for six and a half years. She attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and Wayne State College. Her favorite parts of college were meeting new friends, having a lot of free time, and being able to do whatever she wanted to do.

She knew she wanted to become a teacher because she always wanted to work with kids. When she was younger, she worked at a preschool daycare. this led her towards being a teacher. Before she came to Clarkson, she taught at a Columbus elementary school for a year.

If she wasn’t a teacher, she would want to be a diabetic nurse. She would want to be a diabetic nurse because she is a diabetic. She also attended a diabetic summer camp when she was younger, and she loved helping all of the little kids. Diabetes affects Abby's life because she constantly has to watch what she is eating. She has to mainly watch how many carbs she has eaten. A benefit of her diabetes is meeting other diabetics, including one of her best friends.
