FBLA Attends Fall Leadership Conference

FBLA Conference
By Paige Moore

On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, the Clarkson-Leigh FBLA Chapter took nine officers and two advisers to the District Leadership Conference in Omaha. The day was jam-packed with speakers and sessions. The day started out with the state officers introducing everyone to the new goals for the year. Next, there was an excellent speaker by the name of Bill Cordes who spoke about leadership and making the right choices. He is known as the “YOGOWYPI” guy: “You Only Get Out What You Put In.”

Participants attended smaller break-out sessions for the rest of the day. The first set of sessions were for specific offices. The second set of sessions was focused on business lessons, such as how to get a job and financial topics. The final session was focused on some of the ribbon projects members can do throughout the year. One of the projects is associated with an organization called March of Dimes. March of Dimes is an organization that helps raise money for premature babies. FBLA partners with March of Dimes. The C-L members finished the day by eating lunch and talking as a chapter about plans for the upcoming year.

Attendees of the FBLA conference were (front) Bailey Lemburg, Sara McEvoy, Emily Loeske, Kaegan Held, (back) Mrs. Abby Sayers, Abigail Langdon, Alicia Holmberg, Halee Steffensmeier, Paige Moore, Quintessence Indra, and Mr. Matt Murren.
