In the Patriot Spotlight: Tony Horacek
Each week a Clarkson High School student or Clarkson Public Schools staff member will be randomly selected to be "In the Patriot Spotlight." This week’s Patriot is Mr. Tony Horacek.
Mr. Horacek has been teaching for 26 years, but this is his first year teaching at Clarkson Public Schools. He attended the University of Omaha in Nebraska before he started to teach. At CPS he teaches high school math. His favorite subjects to teach are Algebra I and Algebra II. Mr. Horacek likes to teach because of all the relationships he gets to make with students and other staff members.
He always liked math in high school, and it was easy for him. So, when he knew he wanted to coach, he knew that teaching would be the other half of it. At CPS he coaches his two favorite sports - football (junior high) and wrestling (junior high and high school). His favorite sports teams are the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots.
In his free time, Mr. Horacek likes to be outside fishing, hunting, and bow fishing. If he could go anywhere in the world on a vacation, he would go somewhere where it’s good to fish or hunt. If Mr. Horacek could have one superpower, he would fly. What Mr. Horacek misses most about summer is having free time, but he is really looking forward to getting settled in this school year.
