The Clarkson-Leigh Patriots vs. the BLRD Wolverines

The Patriot volleyball team traveled to Bancroft to play BLRD (Bancroft Rosalie and Lyons Decatur) on September 4. The C-team played first, winning the first set and losing the next two. The JV played the second game and beat the Wolverines in two sets: 25-10 and 25-17.
The final game was the varsity players. The Patriots ended up winning in four sets. They won the first two, 25-20 and 25-18. The third set they lost 19-25, but they won the last one, 25-10. The first two sets were intense because the teams were neck and neck the whole game. Senior Halee Steffensmeier said, “We battled in the first two sets and got a little tired in the third set, but in the last set, we got her done!” In all, the Patriots had 52 kills, with junior Ashlynn Novotny leading the team with 16.
