Novotny Signs With Morningside To Play Basketball

Senior Alyssa Novotny signed on Saturday, April 9th to play college basketball with Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.  Morningside is one of the top schools in the NAIA and GPAC Conference with 4 National Championships in the past 12 years. Novotny ended her Clarkson-Leigh career short her senior season with a knee injury sustained in her 1st volleyball game.  She leaves the Patriots as the career leading scorer, field goals made, assists, and blocks.  She also holds the Patriot record with 37 points in a game and 23 rebounds in a game, landing her a spot in the NSAA record books with the rebounds in a game. Coach Matt Murren said that "Novotny is one of those players that you don't come around to often, she was a player who could do it all.  She was the leader of our team and will continue to lead at the next level.  She leaves a mark on the Patriot program that girls should strive to reach.
