Clarkson-Leigh started the football season out with a tug-of-war game against Pender on Friday, August 26.
Hector Mendoza started off the game with a sweep left for a gain of forty yards, setting a great standard for Clarkson-Leigh. Pender had a great drive in the next series and scored, tying the game. At the end of the first half the Patriots led 30 to 38.
The second half of the game started off with junior Hector Mendoza running a kick return all the way to the end zone.
The Patriots shut Pender out the rest of the game. The final score was 58 to 50.
