Student Spotlight: John Langhorst

This week for the Student Spotlight, John Langhorst was interviewed. John is a sophomore at Clarkson. John’s parents are Steve and Jill.  He has a brother, Wyatt, who is in second grade, and a sister, Molly, who is in 8th grade. John is involved in football, wrestling, speech, band, and choir.

John is planning on going to Northeast Community College in two years to be a welder. He says that he enjoys welding and is good at it. His favorite subject is science, along with his favorite teacher being Mrs. Beeson, the science teacher. John says he likes Mrs. Beeson the most because she never gives out homework. His favorite high school memory so far is when he has football practice on the hill. He thinks it’s a good time to connect with all of the guys.

John is a big reader; if he’s not doing anything in class, you can find him reading. His favorite books to read are by Mark Twain. John’s best advice to give to kids when they get to high school would be, “Don’t be like me, and actually do your homework your freshman year.”

John is the kind of guy who always has a smart comeback to give if anyone is deserving of it. If John could live anywhere in the world, he would pick Paris, France, because of the scenic views.
