In The Patriot Spotlight: Emily Cech
Each week a Clarkson High School student or Clarkson Public Schools staff member will be randomly selected to be "In the Patriot Spotlight." This week's Patriot is Emily Cech. Emily is a freshman at Clarkson Public Schools. Her parents are Pam and Jay Cech.
Emily participates in FFA. She likes FFA because she loves agriculture and wants to learn more about it. Her most memorable time in FFA was just recently - the annual FFA banquet. Emily thought it was fun to get together with everybody in FFA and their families. When Emily gets older, she wants to attend Northeast Community College in Norfolk to become a farmer.
When Emily is not at school, she is either showing cattle, babysitting, reading, or helping around her family farm. Emily loves to read books by Mary Downing Hahn because they have ghosts, which are very interesting to her. Her favorite TV show is Bonanza, while her favorite movie is God's Not Dead.
In Emily’s opinion, the best part about being a Patriot is seeing everyone together and smiling and laughing together. Her favorite part of being at school is seeing all her friends and teachers. Her favorite school lunch is grilled cheese and tuna. The thing she misses most about summer is not being able to help out on the farm every single day. This year Emily is most looking forward to passing all her classes, then, of course, the last day of school.
Emily’s favorite sports are volleyball and football, and her favorite teams to watch are the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Lastly, her favorite color is purple and her dream car is a 1960 Cadillac Convertible.
