Student Spotlight: Garrett Sayers

This week’s student in the spotlight is Garrett Sayers. Garrett is a sophomore at Clarkson High School. His parents are Alan and Jackie Sayers, and he has an older sister and brother:  Rose is 28 and Nick is 23.

Garrett wants to go into diesel tech at Southeast Community College when he graduates. He got interested in it because he likes working on tractors and cars with his dad. He really likes to try and find what is wrong with them and then fixing them.

Garrett was in golf, basketball, and football for two years now. He was also involved FFA and band for two years. His favorite activity is being outside, helping around the farm, and taking care of his calves.

Every summer, Garrett looks forward to working at Schwartz Farms in Leigh and at Clarkson High School. When Garrett has free time he likes to help his dad on the farm, golf, or play basketball with his friends.

For Garrett, there are pros and cons about going to school in a small town.  His favorite thing about going to school in Clarkson is that you pretty much know everyone in school and the classes are pretty small. He also likes being able to see his friends every day. His least favorite thing is that the sports teams aren’t very big, but he’s still glad that we have them.
