In the Patriot Spotlight: Ashlee Novotny

Each week a Clarkson High School student or Clarkson Public Schools staff member will be randomly selected to be "In the Patriot Spotlight." This week’s Patriot is Ashlee Novotny. She is a senior this year, and her parents are Raymond and Peggy Novotny. She has three siblings: Andrew who is 21, Alex who is 19, and Amber who is a junior at Clarkson.

Ashlee is planning on going to Northeast to study early childhood education after graduation. She chose that because when she first started babysitting, she learned that she really loves kids, and she realized she wanted to get a job dealing with kids. She is choosing to go to Northeast because she is nervous to be living on her own, so she chose a college that is close to home. When Ashlee is in college, she is looking forward to experiencing adulthood and meeting new people.

Ashlee is involved in FCCLA, choir, and one act. She just joined FCCLA last year, and she's been in choir and one act for four years. She chose to go out for them because her sisters inspired her to go out for them.

Ashlee’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Beeson because she likes how she reviews and prepares you for a test. Her favorite class is Personal Finance because Mr. Murren teaches life skills that she will need in the near future.

The one thing that Ashlee will miss about high school is joking around with her class because there is only eight of them, so they are all really close.
