In The Patriot Spotlight: KC Heimann

Each week a Clarkson High School student or Clarkson Public Schools staff member will be randomly selected to be "In the Patriot Spotlight."  This week's Patriot is Ms. KC Heimann.

Before becoming a teacher Ms. Heimann went to Midland for four years where she played volleyball. Over those four years, she earned a total of 17 awards playing volleyball.

Ms. Heimann is in her first year teaching at Clarkson Public Schools. Her mom, Mrs. Kim Heimann, also works at the school with her. For KC, the best part about teaching is the lightbulb moment, when she is working with a small group of kids or one on one with a kid. One of her favorite subjects to teach is 5th grade math.

In Ms. Heimann’s opinion, the best part about being a Patriot is the school atmosphere, which is also what made her want to be a teacher. Also, she believes that all the staff and students are the best part about being at school. Ms. Heimann is most looking forward to gaining experience this school year, but she misses having more free time in the summer.

At school Ms. Heimann coaches high school volleyball and junior high track. Volleyball is one of her favorite sports, but rodeo is her other favorite activity.

Her dream car is a King Ranch Pickup. Ms. Heimann sees herself in ten years being married with kids and her dream car, but right now she just has one dog and four kitties. While she loves these animals, her biggest fear is snakes.

During her free time, Ms. Heimann rides horses or plans for her upcoming wedding. Her favorite TV show to watch is One Tree Hill, and her favorite movie is 8 Seconds. Ms. Heimann’s favorite college sports team is the Nebraska Huskers, but her favorite professional team is the Cleveland Cavaliers. Her favorite board game is Monopoly. If Ms. Heimann could go anywhere on a vacation, she would go somewhere out of the country during the winter.  If she could have any superpower, it would be to be in two places at once.
