Escape Rooms Used in British Literature Class

Escape rooms have become a popular outing for adults.  In fact, there are about ten businesses in Nebraska that specialize in this new form of entertainment.  Escape rooms encourage participants to solve riddles/puzzles and use clues to "escape" before time runs out.  Schools have also taken on this concept to introduce or review concepts.

Before the seniors in British Literature begin reading Shakespeare's Macbeth, they first had to escape!  ESU7 provided a lock box, and the BreakOutEdu website provided the clues.  The seniors had to use logic and some research to "escape."  They discovered who received Shakespeare's "second best bed" as well as numerous words invented by the playwright.  The four senior ended up "saving Shakespeare" with ten minutes to spare!
