District Speech

Clarkson speakers are returning to state for the third year in a row.  The Clarkson speech team travelled to Humphrey on March 17th for district competition.  At districts, the team earned the district runner-up plaque.  In order to qualify for the state speech competition in Kearney, speakers had to place in the top three in their event.  State qualifiers included Tony Mach and Brendan Cropp who got 3rd place in Duet Acting, Jenna Podany who got 3rd place in Informative Speaking, and Jenna Schmitz who got 2nd place in Poetry.

Other medalists for the day included: Kaitlyn Dlouhy and Emily Schnelle – 6th place in Duet Acting, Breanna Ashton – 4th place in Persuasive speaking and 6th place in Extemporaneous Speaking, Dominik Harper – 5th place in Entertainment, Cassie Harper – 5th place in Extemporaneous Speaking, Tony Mach – 4th place in Serious, Caitlin Dozier – 6th place in Serious, Rachel Rupprecht – 4th place in Humorous, and Korbin Kudera – 5th place in Informative Speaking.
