Clarkson One Act

The cast and crew of "Making Nice" - a play about a stressed-out director trying to harness her frustrations and "make nice."

Clarkson One Act

Mr. Ryan Dusso hosted auditions towards the beginning of the school year for one act.  He chose the play “Making Nice.” Then he chose a cast of 18 people and a crew made up of 4 people, and they started meeting every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:00 am. Sometimes they would even meet on Sundays to practice.  They started rehearsing in the choir room and then eventually moved to the stage.  They slowly created a set and figured out costumes.

On Saturday, November 14th, all of the crew members and some of the cast took a trip with Mr. Dusso to Midland.  Since this was the college he went to, they got to go through their closet of costumes and props.  They got permission to borrow any of their costumes or props for the play.  They also got to see the play “Once On This Island” performed by Midland students - a classic Romeo and Juliet tale.  After the show they got a tour of their set and even met some of the actors and crew members.

Clarkson performed “Making Nice” to the school on Wednesday, November 18th.  The students in one act practiced all day, allowing them to take notes to make it better.  Clarkson one act will be ready for conference and district performances that are coming up soon.
