Christmas Concert

Emily Schnelle
Every year Clarkson Choir and Band hosts a Christmas concert to spread holiday cheer. The concert was held on December 3 in the new gym at Clarkson High School.
Festive songs were sung by choir students from preschool through high school. Preschoolers and kindergarteners used instruments for “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers.” Then, all students in K-6 grade sang “All Stars” together.
When the elementary completed their performances, the junior high sang two songs and then performed their bucket instrument routine. The senior high choir performed three songs also. To end the choir portion of the concert the senior high girls’ glee choir sang “Pie Jesu” with the help of Mrs. Vicky Miller and Katharina Ost as violinists.
When the choir was finished, elementary children grades 4-6 performed in the band - 4th graders played the recorder and 5th and 6th grade played their instruments. The junior high and senior high then played “Abominable Snowman” together. The senior band finished the concert with “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.”
The 1st and 2nd graders use boomwhackers to make music.
