In the Patriot Spotlight: Carter Hanel

Patriot in the Spotlight
By Bailey Lemburg

Each week a Clarkson High School student or Clarkson Public Schools staff member will be randomly selected to be "In the Patriot Spotlight." This week’s Patriot is Carter Hanel.

Carter is a freshman here at CPS, and he has two other siblings: Chloe a seventh grader and Grant a fifth grader. Carter’s parents are Mark and Rhonda Hanel.

In school Carter participates in football, basketball, and track. His favorite sport is football because he gets to hit people and his favorite football team is the New England Patriots.

Carter doesn’t quite know what he wants to be when he grows up, but he does know that he wants to go to UNL because it is close to home and it is a four-year college. His favorite teacher is Mr. McEvoy because his class is easy and always fun, so it’s no surprise that Carter’s favorite class is Geography with Mr. McEvoy. This school year Carter is most looking forward to the end. Carter’s favorite part of the day is when he gets to talk to his friends, and his favorite school lunch is cheeseburger casserole.

What Carter misses most about summer is hanging out with his friends. In his free time, Carter likes to either play Fortnite or work.

If Carter could go anywhere on a vacation he would go to Colorado to go skiing. If he could have one superpower, it would be to able to fly anywhere. If tomorrow he won a million dollars, he would play it safe and just put it all into a savings account.

Carter’s biggest fear is dying in a car accident because that would be really scary. His favorite food is spaghetti and favorite holiday is Christmas. In the next ten years of his life, Carter is most looking forward to getting a job.
