Patriot of Valor Recipients

Clarkson Public Schools is pleased to announce the recipients of the Patriot of Valor award for the month of October 2019. This award recognizes students for their academic performance, character, behavior, and attendance. Teachers nominate students that demonstrate these qualities each month and then selections are made during staff meetings. Students are chosen from elementary, middle and high school.

Keelie Anderson is a kindergartener who was nominated by Mrs. Brenda Novak. Keelie is “a good friend. Keelie will help her peers inside and outside of the classroom.”

Sixth grade student Emilie Hajek was nominated in the middle school by Mr. Bryan Becker. He praised Emilie for “having a good attitude about school work. Emilie often gives up recess to get extra help on her assignments, she wants to do well in class. Emilie is helpful to others in class.”
Emilie received a second nomination from Mrs. Tami Sayers. “Emilie has done a great job of participating in class. She has come out of her shell and has gained confidence in herself in and out of the classroom. Emilie is taking pride in herself and her grades and it shows!”

Junior Bailey Lemburg was nominated by Mrs. Lynn Morfeld. “In recognition of consistently being an honorable, diligent, hard-working student. Bailey uses her time in school effectively to get as much studying and work in as possible. She treats school as her full-time job, and her dedication to that job would make her a valuable employee to future employers. She is extremely organized and is able to efficiently prioritize her studies, extracurricular activities, and social life. I enjoy Bailey's quick wit and honesty when we get a chance to talk outside of academics. I hope my own daughter looks up to Bailey as someone to emulate. ”
Bailey received a second nomination from Mrs. Allison Dolezal, “In chemistry, Bailey always puts effort into every assignment. She is often gone for school activities and still completes her work in a timely manner while coming in on her own time to complete missed labs. Bailey asks questions on assignments if she doesn't understand. She is eager to learn and has high expectations for herself.”

Clarkson Public Schools is pleased to announce the recipients of the Patriot of Valor award for the month of September. This award recognizes students for their academic performance, character, behavior, and attendance. Teachers nominate students that demonstrate these qualities each month and then selections are made during staff meetings.  Students are chosen from elementary, middle and high school.

Seventh grade student Emma Gall was nominated in the junior high by Mrs. Tami Sayers.  “Emma has been a respectful classmate and student who works well with others. She participates in class and asks questions when she has them. Emma will talk to anyone and always has a smile on her face!”

Junior Lyrick Vance was nominated by Mrs. Lynn Morfeld. “In recognition for moving out of your comfort zone! Your confidence has grown tremendously in the past three years from a girl who would shyly whisper responses to a young woman who has the courage to interview people and take pictures at games. You continue to be trustworthy, respectful, and a curious student. Thanks for being YOU!”

Sophomore Noah Holoubek was nominated by Mrs. Vicky Miller “for always being an eager learner. Noah notices little details and seeks to understand patterns to know why things are the way they are. He is genuinely curious about so many topics and pushes himself to raise his own bar. He is also willing to share his technology talents with others in the classroom. He will be a lifelong learner!”

Noah received a second nomination from Mrs. Emily Wietfeld, “Noah uses his time wisely, is unafraid to ask questions, is trustworthy, has a passion for knowledge, creates working helpful relationships with teachers and peers, is very well disciplined, and is technologically savvy.”

For the elementary students, a group of three were awarded for cleaning up Clarkson over Labor Day weekend.  The girls that helped keep our community clean were Kanon Clarkson (3rd grade), Cierra Novotny (3rd grade), and Kyla Clarkson (5th grade).  Mrs. Abby Gall recognizes and appreciates their efforts.

Sixth grade student Tucker Matthies was the recipient at the middle school level because of his efforts in all classrooms.  Mr. Andrew Faltys said, “Tucker has gone beyond what is expected in the classroom this school year. He has stuck his neck out to answer questions in class, even if he wasn’t 100% sure.  He’s taking chances and I appreciate it!”

Clarkson Public Schools congratulates these seven students and looks forward to showcasing more students in October.
