Indra Commits to NWU

INDRA COMMITS TO NWU

Destiny Indra has accepted an academic and achievement scholarship to play softball at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.  Nebraska Wesleyan is an NCAA Division III school.  The PrairieWolves’ softball team is under the direction of Coach Mary Yori.  Mary had this to say about Destiny, “Destiny is a dedicated and driven athlete.  Her skills as a solid shortstop and outstanding hitter will be big attributes as a newcomer in our program.  I have known Destiny for several years and am delighted she chose to attend NWU as a softball student athlete.  Her passion and leadership are characteristics of players who fit well in our program.”

Destiny’s high school career with Highway 91 Cyclones has been one for the books.  She has set the bar in skills and leadership for the newly founded coop between Clarkson, Leigh, Howells and Dodge.  She has a .522 batting average with 41 RBI’s.  Defensively she has a fielding percentage of .949.  Destiny was selected as a Super Senior in the Columbus Telegram.  She received First Team All Conference Honors for the East Husker Conference and Honorable Mention in the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald.

Destiny has spent her summers playing for TEAM Nebraska in Omaha.  “Destiny has been a mainstay everyday starter at shortstop for some of the best TEAM Nebraska teams.  I am very proud of Destiny as she is a great student, and I know she will impact the PrairieWolves’ program for years to come as she has ours as both a player and mentor to our younger teams” said Darren Peterson, Director of TEAM Nebraska.

Destiny is a senior at Clarkson Public School and is the daughter of Adam and Chay Indra.
